You must know, however, that Amazon Prime is not only this: in addition to bringing a significant saving on shipping costs, Prime allows you to enjoy movies and TV series in streaming, receive objects within a day (or a few hours, in some cases!), access preview offers, buy food on a regular basis and take advantage of many other small benefits.
How do you say? I intrigued you, but at least for the time being, do not you want to pay money to sign up for a subscription? Are you wondering how to get Amazon Prime for free in order to understand if this service is actually for you? So you’ve just come to the right place at the right time! In this guide, in fact, I will show you how to activate the trial version of the service, to use it for free for a month, and how to get an annual subscription as a gift through some telephone offers.

Before moving on to the action and seeing, together, how to activate a free subscription to Amazon Prime, I feel obliged to explain to you what this service consists of. As the name itself suggests, Amazon Prime is an exclusive subscription dedicated to e-commerce customers founded by Jeff Bezos, through which you can access a very wide range of benefits.
Unlike what you might imagine, Amazon Prime is not just a way to save on shipping costs: by subscribing to it, it is possible to access a series of additional services, even if not connected to the concept of shipping itself, which I will list in the detail below.
- Shipping costs – thanks to Amazon Prime, shipping for items competing to the Prime program (including all those shipped from Amazon) is free regardless of the price of the asset itself and, over two million products, you can get guaranteed delivery in a business day. Furthermore, thanks to the Amazon Prime Now service, you can take advantage of guaranteed delivery within 1-3 hours of ordering: in Italy, however, this service is available only in the city of Milan.
- Early access to offers – Prime service subscribers can access flash bids 30 minutes in advance.
- Amazon Prime Day – this is the day of discounts organized by Amazon, during which only subscribers can take advantage of exclusive offers.
- Amazon Pantry – is the “supermarket” of Amazon, through which you can buy consumer goods and daily use, such as food, detergents and household products.
- Amazon Dash Button – by purchasing these small “buttons” and associating each one with a single product, Prime customers can place automatic orders simply by pressing the physical button. If you want to deepen the subject, you can consult my guide dedicated to Amazon Dash Button.
- Amazon Prime Video – this is Amazon’s on-demand streaming platform, which allows you to watch TV series, movies, programs and various Japanese anime, to which Prime customers can access for free. I told you about this service in detail in my guide on how Amazon Prime Video Italia works.
- Amazon Music Unlimited – is the music service of Amazon, through which you can play songs in streaming without limits. - Amazon Drive / Amazon Prime Photos – these are Amazon’s cloud services for Prime customers. The former offers 5 GB of free storage for videos and other files, while the second allows unlimited upload and storage of photos and images, via the dedicated app. Both services are included in the Amazon Prime subscription.
- Twitch Prime – by linking your Amazon Prime account to Twitch.tv, you can take advantage of free in-game content every month, get exclusive discounts on games for sale on Amazon, and eliminate advertising from streaming content on Twitch.
At the time of writing this guide, Amazon Prime requires an entry fee of € 19.99 per year or € 4.99 per month. From April 4, 2018, however, all new Prime subscriptions have a cost of 36 euros per year.

Before proceeding further, however, I want to warn you that you can take advantage of this possibility only once for each Amazon account. Without this premise, it is finally time to take action!

If you are registering from the computer, connected first to the main Amazon page, click on Subscribe to Prime placed in the upper right, next to the cart, then presses the Subscribe button and use it free for 30 days attached to the new page that appears .
At this point, if you have an Amazon account, fill in the fields with your login credentials and click on the Login button; if you are not yet registered, presses the button Create your Amazon account, fill out the proposed form with the required data and presses again on the button Create your Amazon account.
Complete this operation, enter your credit card details by filling in the Card number, Card holder and Expiry date fields, then press the Next button: do not worry, you will not be charged until the free trial month expires. Then, in the proposed form, enter all the data necessary to register a billing address (Name and surname, Address, City, ZIP code, Province, Country and Telephone number), then click on Save this address and, immediately after, on the Subscribe now, 30 days free.

If you use Amazon through the app for Android or iOS, know that it is not possible to subscribe to Prime through the latter. What you can do, however, is sign up through your device’s browser (eg Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS).
Then connect to the Amazon site, tap the button Start the free 30-day period at the bottom of the screen, after which, if you are already registered, enter the login information to your account and presses the Login button. If you are not registered with Amazon, touch the Create an account item, choose whether to use your mobile phone number or Use your email address by pressing on the appropriate entries and follow the on-screen instructions to finalize your subscription.
Once you have access to your account, presses on the item Add a new payment method, enter your credit card information in the proposed form and, to activate Amazon Prime, tap the Continue button.
As I mentioned earlier, the cost of Amazon Prime will not be charged to your credit card before the end of the 30-day trial: to prevent this from happening, you need to disable the automatic renewal of Amazon Prime using the procedure that I have illustrated later in this guide.

Numerous telephone companies, to earn more and more customers, reserve the opportunity for new subscribers to choose a digital “welcome gift” to add to their package: for some rates there is the possibility of obtaining an Amazon Prime Free subscription, to be fully exploited for a precise promotional period.

When you activate a subscription to Amazon Prime, the automatic renewal of the same is also enabled on the payment method chosen at the time of subscription. If you do not intend to extend your subscription beyond the free promotional term, all you have to do is disable the automatic renewal of Amazon Prime: the procedure can be completed in a couple of clicks and provides for the deactivation of the service on the day immediately following the natural expiry of the service.
Please note that disabling automatic renewal does not disable the service: you can still use the services and benefits offered by Amazon Prime until the subscription expiration date.
That said, it’s time to take action: if you have activated the free one-month trial and intend to disable the automatic renewal, connected to the Amazon website, login if necessary (you must click on the Hello, Login) , then select the item My Prime placed at the top and click on the link My Amazon Prime placed immediately below the last advertising panel (alternatively, you can access the aforementioned section by clicking directly on this link).
At this point, to cancel the automatic renewal, presses on the voice Do not continue attached to the left pane of the left page of the new page and finally presses twice on the Cancel subscription button.
If you intend to deactivate an annual subscription, after having accessed the My Amazon Prime section as explained above, all you have to do is click on the Unsubscribe item – Renounce the benefits of Prime, annexed to the left panel, then on the End button my benefits and finally on the Cancel subscription button.
